Evaluation question 3 - What have you learned from your audience feedback?

We decided to answer question 3 as a group, which was 'what have you learned from your audience feedback?'. Overall, there were a lot of strengths for our music video, however, we found that there are some things that we would change if we was to create another music video due to the feedback we have received as well through the experience of creating the video. For example, we would add a wider range of different locations and leave enough time for us to get to these locations as we didn't do this due the limited amount of time we had to film the video, this was due to the fact we changed our mind with our song choice and had to plan a whole new song in a shorter space of time. Despite some changes we would make, overall, I think that everything went well and there were no major faults.

Music Video Audience Questionnaire

Audience Feedback

Once we completed our final music video we gathered 15 people to watch it and give us positive feedback as well as areas for improvement. In another post I will upload each individual feedback slip, however, now I am going to give an overview of the feedback we received as many of the comments made were very similar.

feedback received:

POSITIVE COMMENTS:
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT:
Good mise-en-scene (make up etc)
A wider variety of shots
Good use of lighting especially on the lip syncing
More locations
Visual matching with song

Looked professional

Good use of light to portray the theme

Excellent editing

Overall we received more positive comments than negative which is always a good thing, and when looking back over the comments I was very pleased. In addition, I think that the areas for improvements were fair and did make sense. I do think that we could have used a wider variety of shots and could have used more locations. However, we didn't want to over do the amount of shots we used as this could have resulted in the video looking 'cluttered' and could look like there's 'too much happening'. We were also tight for time and were restricted with the different locations we could use due to having no car, and not having easy access to good filming locations so we had to work with what was close to us. We also asked people to give a rating of our music video out of 5 and the average rating given was 4.3. The rating we received was much better than I expected our video to get, and as a group we was very happy with this.
